Reasons To Love Brantford
- Wayne Gretzky
When driving through, it is not hard to tell that Brantford is the hometown of The Great One, and where his father Walter is still very active in the community, whether he is fundraising or organizing hockey tournaments.
- Accessible
Centrally located on Highway 403, Brantford is within an hour of both Toronto and London, 90 miles from Buffalo, 170 miles from Detroit and roughly eight hours from all major economic centres of northeastern United States.
- Development
Ferrero Canada, Procter & Gamble and Masco Canada Ltd., among others, have moved into the industrial parks within the city since 2004.
- Studious
Downtown Brantford is home to three growing post-secondary institutions, including Laurier Brantford, Nipissing University and Mohawk College.
- Fresh
Bike, walk or run on more than 40 km of natural trails. Canoe down the Grand River. Take a stroll through one of the "Best Bloomin' City in Canada" gardens.
- Vibrant
Culturally diverse community which celebrates its unique differences every year at the International Villages Festival.
- Spirit
Brantford's city council, local businesses and its citizens are committed to the downtown revitalization. The recent creation of Harmony Square in the heart of downtown has brought, and continues to bring people together to show their spirit, whether it is through fine arts, music, drama, skating or simply socializing.

- GKYork's vision and business strength have allowed, over the recent years, their focus on less desirable properties, to successfully refurbish and bring a revitalized use and attractive streetscape pleasing to the eye of the community.
- The company enjoys renovating heritage buildings to maintain their once-grand appearance, mixing old and new elements together.
- GKYork is a proud supporter of downtown Brantford and is excited about the universities in the downtown area.
- Launched in 2005, development of the Harmony Square Centre in the heart of downtown Brantford was awarded to GK York Management services, and completed in 2007. This project consists of three apartment/office buildings, including a hotel known as the Bodega Inn, as well as a public square with a water fountain, splash pad and ice rink.
